The Finalists

Ashley Peeler Age: 31 Occupation: A production manager, training as an aviation fire-fighter. Why did you enter the Men's Challenge? To see if I could come out on top. I am always up for a challenge (and a new car never hurt anyone). What is your greatest 'adventure' (or extreme sports) achievement? Why? Rafting the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Rafting along a river that is over a mile deep is something hard to explain. You feel cut off from the rest of the world, just you and the river. I really enjoyed the challenge. What product did you purchase to enter the challenge? Gillette Fusion Razor. What do you like about it? It's the only razor that can get through my stubble. I love my Gillette razor; I have been using Gillette products for years. What was the biggest challenge of the day? Having my bike break on the warm up lap of the mountain bike leg of the challenge. What was the highlight of the day? Riding a borrowed bike in the mountain bike leg and still making it to the third round of races. It was a great event, I really love the location, course layout and all the people were really helpful. What does confidence mean to you? Being able to stand strong in an unknown situation and come out on top. |

Greg Voght Age: 28 Occupation: IT Professional Why did you enter? It sounded like an absolute blast! All the events to compete in describe what I try to spend all my spare time doing and I would rate myself an enthusiastic competitive amateur for all of them. I knew then that I would be able to at least give the other guys a run for their money and maybe get a good story out of it as well. What is your greatest 'adventure' (or extreme sports) achievement? Why? Completing the Forster Half GeoQuest 100km Adventure Race: rogaining, mountain biking, kayaking and rafting for over 27 hours. What products did you purchase to enter the challenge? Head & Shoulders and the Fusion Razor. What do you like about these products? I have been using Gillette Razors for 6 plus years. They always seem to be great and hold their edge. What was the biggest challenge of the day? That damn slippery pit on the mountain bike leg, repeated retries and momentum was the only way to overcome it. What was your biggest accomplishment on the day? Doing well in the first leg was great, given how fit the other guys are. And I was really happy with the 4WDs, as it was my second time ever. What did you learn from the challenge? Never trust pocket rockets in poker. More of a reaffirmation really but an important lesson to learn none the less. What does confidence mean to you? There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Ironman is the ultimate superhero. |

Mike Gainer Age: 30+ Occupation: Fire-fighter. Why did you enter? To challenge myself yet again and to prove I am a "Jack of All Trades". What is your greatest 'adventure' (or extreme sports) achievement? Why? I have not had my greatest adventure yet, even though I've had many. The greatest achievement so far must be that despite playing many different contact sports (Aussie Rules, boxing, gridiron, wrestling and ice hockey) and having dangerous professions (Elite Reconnaissance Marine, Adventure Therapist/Youth Worker and Fire-fighter), I am still feeling and looking great! What products did you purchase to enter the challenge? Gillette Fusion Razer and Head & Shoulders Shampoo as I already use those products. What do you like about these products? The shampoo really helps my skin and the razor is great. Nothing better. What was the biggest challenge of the day? Catching up on the bike leg after my tyre came off. What was the highlight of the day? I loved that each event was quite tough. I'm happy that I can still mix it with the young guys. |

Shaun Blackman Age: 34 Occupation: Semi-pro soccer player. Why did you enter? I entered as I love to be tested in these types of events and to test my ability against other competitors. What is your greatest 'adventure' (or extreme sports) achievement? Why? I would have to say travelling all over Frazer Island. It is an amazing experience and feels like the first time every time. What products did you purchase to enter the challenge? The Gillette Razor and Head & Shoulders shampoo. What do you like these products? I have been using the razor for 10 years. It's the best around. It gets closer than any other one I've used. What was the biggest challenge of the day? The run was very challenging and going through the water took it out of me, but you just had to keep on going as there was a car on the line. What was the highlight of the day? I would say winning the poker component of the Men's Challenge was a highlight, but overall the whole day was fantastic, one that I won't forget. What does confidence mean to you? Having the ability to know that you can do what you need to do to get the job done. |
