Paul Baird
Age: 22

Occupation: Personal Trainer

Why did you enter the Men's Challenge 2009?

One of my personal training clients saw it on the Women's Health Facebook Group. She told me about the challenge and convinced me to give it a shot.

What is your greatest 'adventure' (or extreme sports) achievement? Why?

In terms of 'greatness', I would have to say winning Gladiators (2008) but in terms of physical and mental achievement definitely the Urban Adventure Race (Rat Race).

What products did you purchase to enter the challenge?

Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner. Because that's what I use and I was all out.

Do you use any of the other products?

Gillette is the best shave I have ever had. I have tried many other razors, shaving creams and gels and always come back to Gillette.

What was the biggest challenge of the day?

Being the youngest competitor I knew the others had played a little more poker and have had more practice perfecting their poker faces.

What are you thinking about when you've got your poker face on?

I pretend I'm in a lecture or a really boring meeting at work. I'm still thinking but externally I look like a zombie.

What was the highlight of the day?

The day was heaps of fun, but I'd have to say the highlight was winning the mountain biking leg. I bought a new bike for the event and it justified its ridiculous price tag in just four laps.

What does confidence mean to you?

The ability to approach anyone or anything without doubting yourself or your actions.
